Bluestone Vineyard
About 30 minutes from Staunton and 40 minutes from the venue, this winery has beautiful views and great wine that is well worth the drive. One of our (mostly Katie's) favorites, we highly recommend enjoying a glass of Bluestone's Moscato and/or Blue Ice.
CrossKeys Vineyards
Just under 30 minutes from Staunton and 45 minutes from the venue, this is another highly recommended winery with gorgeous mountain views. Try their fruit wine flight to taste the sweet, fruity goodness. Really great food, especially the cheese plate!
Stable Craft Brewing
If beer's more your speed, stable craft brewery is less than 20 minutes from Staunton and 30 minutes from the venue. With a large variety of craft beers on tap, there's a lot of good ones you'll find. We went for our last anniversary and can attest that the blueberry blonde ale and britchin brown were excellent! Great food too!
Nelson 151 Trail
Now a bit more of a drive, but for those of you who may hang out before and after a wedding, we cannot not recommend the Nelson 151 Trail of wineries and breweries. Options along this trail include Afton Mountain Vineyards, Blue Mountain Brewery, Bold Rock Hard Cidery, Cardinal Point Wineyard, Devils Backbone Brewery, Flying Fox Vineyard, Hill Top Winery, Veritas Vineyard, and Wild Wolf Brewery. The food, drinks, and scenery are well worth the hour drive from Staunton and the venue.
Skyline Drive
While we're more of a chilling at winery/brewery on Saturday afternoon type of couple, our more active friends and family can check out the huge amount of hiking trails available in the beautiful mountains surrounding us.
The Club at Ironwood
If you fancy yourself a round of golf, this golf course has great reviews, looks very pretty and is located right inside Staunton.
