Shout out to Steph for organizing the best blind date in history. Steph asked her bestie (Katie) if she was interested in going on a blind date with a nice guy from her grad school class (Matt). Katie was not excited about the idea of a blind date but thought “why not?” So, on a random Tuesday in November Katie and Matt met up at Taco Surf in Sunset Beach where they pretty much closed down the restaurant! At the end of the night Katie gave Matt her number so they could arrange their next date.
Matt pulled off the ultimate surprise proposal on September 20, 2019 at Crystal Cove. What started as a “quick walk before dinner” ended with a romantic proposal and an enthusiastic YES! “Nearly four years ago Katie took me to Crystal Cove for the first time as one of our very first dates and it’s held a special place in my heart ever since. I’ve known for a long time that I would ask Katie to spend the rest of her life with me at the spot we’ve come back to so many times to sit and watch the ocean together, forgetting about anything else going on in our lives. It’s just the two of us enjoying the moment when we’re there. I’m lucky to have someone who makes everything else feel small compared to the importance of our relationship and I’m extra lucky she feels the same way.” ~ Matt
