From Katie's Perspective: One of my stylists at work and I used to close together every Tuesday night and after the store was closed we'd talk love and life. Rachel decided she wanted to be my wing woman because she thought she had the perfect guy for me, and made sure it wouldn't be weird if she became my Facebook friend to show this mystery man pictures. I'd been online dating for so long it was refreshing to be able to meet a person coming with a recommendation and her description of him - adventurous, stable, homeowner, good guy, traveler - had me agreeing to meet almost before I'd even seen a photo. I had nothing to lose except the time it took her and Mark's roommate to get him to agree to a set up. Knowing he had been reluctant to even meet, I tried to make our group drinks meeting feel casual and like I wasn't over eager. You can imagine my interest peaking as Mark shared about the scuba classes he was taking so he would be certified for his upcoming trip to Thailand and his love of photography. Evidently I played it too cool because he didn't think I was that interested even though he jokingly texted Rachel at the end of the night that he called the wedding planner after the date, and how many kids are too many? Little did we know his joke would be reality a year and a half later! From Mark's Perspective: Being an amazing renaissance man is hard, and it means everyone tries to set you up with a friend who is "perfect for you." When Rachel kept pushing for me to meet her manager I naturally resisted because I was sick of set ups that never worked. Finally she broke me down by showing me some pictures of her on Facebook. After the first meeting I honestly didn't think Katie was that interested in me, but I initiated another meet just the two of us and when she said yes, I figured I'd keep suggesting time together until she started saying no. Luckily she kept coming back to me, and in the end, I locked her down with a permanent life long yes!
