This is the main event! Lake Cascade is a beautiful reservoir located in the Boise National Forest with 86 miles of shoreline. Cascade State Park has sites all along the shore with great beaches for swimming! Intermountain Power Sport Rentals in town offers boat and jet ski rentals, while Mountain Meadow Rentals in Donnelly (north of Cascade) also offers paddleboards.
A 1.7 mile out-and-back hike beginning at the end of Snow Bank Mountain Road and ending at a beautiful alpine lake!
A premier whitewater park featuring 5 in-water features for tubes, kayaks, paddleboards and rafts. Water toys are available to rent for use in the park! The welcome center is located right on the river and boasts incredible views, as well as a connection to The Strand, a 5-mile walking path along the banks of the Payette River.
Cascade may not be world renowned for fine dining, but it is the home of some of the best summer bites you can get! A list our of favorites below: - Reo's Pizza: A classic pizza joint. Great to eat in or pick up a pizza and bring it to the waterfront! - Thunder Mountain Burgers: No-frills, just really good burgers (and veggie burgers!). Not a true Idaho experience unless you get the fry sauce, too! - Squirrel Outdoors: Formerly known as the Cascade Store, this has a delicious in-store ice cream parlor featuring huckleberry ice cream, specialty chocolates and other treats! Connected to a sporting goods store which also has some fun local products. - Bigfoot Brew Coffee: In-town coffee shop. - Mrs. Tib’s Bakery: A new bakery in town! We recommend the savory pastries or huckleberry croissants.
There are hot springs scattered throughout the Boise National Forest and near Cascade! The photo above is from Trail Creek Hot Springs, but the search doesn't stop there. You can find great directions to lead you to this or more remote springs on AllTrails.
