Katie and Korey met at a college St. Patrick's Day party at Binghamton University. Katie was a senior with 2 months left before graduation. Korey had graduated the year before and came back for a visit. Katie definitely wasn't looking for love, knowing she would be back home soon, starting her post-grad life. Through mutual friends, Katie was introduced to Korey who, to Katie's surprise, was from Long Island also. Katie just so happened to have plans the following weekend to visit home and Korey asked if those plans could include a date. On March 11, 2016 Katie and Korey went on their first date - they've been going on dates every March 11 since!

After nearly 6 years - two dogs, one house and countless memories later - Korey asked Katie to marry him on December 28, 2021. Korey made the perfect dinner after Katie got home from her 12.5 hour shift. He got down on one knee in their kitchen. It was the happiest day!
