Our love story began long before we knew what love really was. We first met as kids, introduced by our older sisters, Tayler and Ciara, who were quietly hoping we’d one day fall for each other. After that first meeting, we messaged back and forth for an entire year — young, curious, and completely unaware that something special had started. But with Kade heading into high school and Katie still in grade school, life gently pulled us in different directions. Years passed. We crossed paths in high school — sharing smiles in the hallways of Vanier Collegiate and engaging in conversations at parties — but timing still wasn’t ours. It wasn’t until university that fate stepped in again. Katie’s best friend Karma gave Kade the encouragement he needed, and after a few exchanged messages and a chance encounter on a summer night out in Moose Jaw, we found ourselves talking until sunrise. We’ve been together ever since — growing in love, creating memories, and dreaming about forever. Along the way, we’ve navigated seasons of long distance, with Katie finishing nursing school in Calgary and Kade completing his own training in Saskatoon and, later, Kade’s medical school journey in both the Caribbean and the State of Georgia. Although we were apart more than we wished, those times only deepened our commitment and brought us closer. Six years later, Kade surprised Katie during a sister trip in Upstate New York and proposed at golden hour. With our parents joining us shortly after, we spent a magical weekend in New York City celebrating the beginning of forever. & now, we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us.
