Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Katie Stypulkowski and Joe Lofberg
There is certainly no shortage of entertainment in Las Vegas, and we will be hosting our wedding on historic Fremont Street so there is lots to explore. The Fremont Street corridor is where the first casinos in Las Vegas sprung up nearly a century ago, and is nowadays one of the most lively and exciting places in town. With over a dozen casinos, nightly music acts, street performers galore, and countless bars and restaurants, you are sure to find plenty of activities within walking distance to enjoy. For those who have never visited Las Vegas, Fremont Street is located about 5 miles from the center of the world famous Las Vegas Strip. With numerous resorts dotting the Strip and Fremont Street there are countless activities to choose from, far too many to list here. We'd be happy to provide more recommendations to anyone who'd like them, but for now here are a handful of our favorite things to do both on & off the resort corridor.
Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon

Las Vegas, NV 89161

A beautiful canyon located just outside of Las Vegas featuring towering red-tinted rock walls, hiking trails for any activity level, and a scenic loop drive through the canyon's valley floor. Reservations are often required, so please consult the linked website for more information.

AREA15

AREA15

3215 South Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89102

Area-15 is a haven for the strange and surreal. It offers interactive art exhibits, virtual reality experiences, a rotating selection of immersive activities, a mind-bending playable mystery at Omega Mart, and that's just the beginning.

The Mob Museum

The Mob Museum

300 Stewart Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101

Located just off Fremont Street, the Mob Museum features an eclectic collection of authentic mafia memorabilia, exhibits, and media from all over the country.

Pop-Stroke: Eat, Putt, Drink

Pop-Stroke: Eat, Putt, Drink

6617 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89119

One of the newest activities around town, this is Tiger Woods's version of mini-golf with all sorts of drinks and food available to you while you play.

Pinball Hall of Fame

Pinball Hall of Fame

4925 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89119

Stroll the aisles of vintage pinball machines and stop to play a few that catch your eye. This is one of the best low-cost activities around, and is located just across the street from the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign and the Harley Davidson Museum.

Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam

This modern engineering marvel is located roughly 45min. from Las Vegas and makes a great day trip if you're looking to get out of Vegas for an afternoon. There are plenty of local companies offering tours with direct hotel pickup, but if you'll be driving yourself then we recommend stopping by Boulder City on your way there for a nice lunch.

Lion Habitat Ranch inc

Lion Habitat Ranch inc

382 Bruner Avenue, Henderson, NV 89044

Stop by the Lion Habitat Ranch to get up close with large animals such as lions and giraffes. These retired animals from the entertainment world (many of the lions originating from the MGM Grand's now shuttered lion exhibit) are fun to see, and for an additional fee you can even pose for photos with them and feed them.

SAW Escape Room

SAW Escape Room

2121 South Industrial Road, Las Vegas, NV 89102

Voted the #1 escape room in America, the SAW escape room is a great way to get your heart rate up without any gambling involved. For anyone looking for a scare while in Vegas you can also try the Blair Witch and IT escape rooms right next door, and the Zak Bagan's Haunted Museum just off Fremont Street is a monument to the paranormal too.

Harrah's Las Vegas Piano Bar

Harrah's Las Vegas Piano Bar

3475 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89109

One of the most fun lounges on the Strip, the Piano Bar at Harrah's has a wide variety of music acts performing daily. Our personal favorites are Big Elvis, a large Elvis impersonator with an even larger voice, and the Dueling Pianos show, which is the reigning winner of Best Lounge Act in Vegas per the city's annual awards.

Casino Quest

Casino Quest

3200 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109

A business you'll only find in Las Vegas, this unique store in the Fashion Show Mall offers affordable lessons on nearly all casino games including craps, roulette, blackjack, and poker. You can always walk up and try your luck in the casinos anytime, but if you'd like to go in with better odds than the next guy you can learn everything you need to know here at Casino Quest.
