I'll be the stars, and you the sky

Katie and Jesse met in 2011. Katie and her friend Carly were at The Break Room in Topeka, KS for a monthly karaoke party. Jesse almost hit Katie in the face with a door and she yelled at him for being careless and then he wouldn't leave her alone. The next week, they went on their first date and long story short, now they're getting married. To make a long story longer... Jesse and Katie moved in together in 2013 when Jesse moved to Olathe, KS. About a year later they met and fell in love with their perfect angel of a dog, George. Next came Charlie the cat, who was chosen because the animal shelter had named him Uncle Jesse. C'mon, they had to. In late 2015 they began looking for a house to buy. It was a long, difficult process. Jesse was working a lot of overtime and, hey, did you know teaching is stressful? But, they finally found one they loved and that didn't get bought out from under them in Overland Park. They moved into the house in April 2016. It has been a sanctuary for them as the world continues to be difficult to live in. Here, they have welcomed two more dogs, Percy in 2017 and Moose in 2018, into the family. So if you're keeping track, that's three dogs and one cat, not to mention Beau and Beatrix which Katie had before meeting Jesse. Lots of animals and so much love. Jesse proposed to Katie in February 2020. It was pretty unassuming and, to be honest, not romantic at all. But it was right and good for them. They look forward to celebrating their love for each other with all their friends and family in May 2021 in Lecompton, KS. It'll be beautiful evening under the stars with karaoke and lots of partying. Get ready, friends.
