Not every love story begins with a "so and so walks into a bar" joke, but ours does! Neither of us were barflies by any stretch, and yet a random boys' night out and a fortuitous date stand-up led to an unexpected connection. It wasn't long before we knew that this was "kind of a thing," and before we knew it, we were holding hands, climbing trees, traveling the world, and loving every minute spent together. Today, nothing has changed, and that's the beauty of it. We're still doing everything we love, and we do it all together.
Katie thought we were just going on a vacation cruise together. Jason knew otherwise. We had just boarded a cruise to Mexico, and Jason suggested we explore the ship, starting with the theater. Jason waited...and waited...and continued to wait for what felt like an eternity (though it was probably just a few minutes.) He stalled for as long as he could, even resorting to commenting on stage lighting just to keep Katie there. Finally, Katie turned around to see 4 people walking down the isle towards the stage. It was both sets of our parents. After a sneaky pass of the ring from Katie's mom, Jason was down on one knee. She said, "Yes, please!" and the rest is history.
