Iconic spot to grab a pitcher of Summer Shandy, fried cheese curds, and a brat while watching sailboats go by on Lake Mendota and listen to live music.
Adventure down the Lakeshore Path to this walking trail that leads to a scenic outlook with views of the lake, terrace, and capitol.
Try Stella's spicy cheesy bread (hot n ready!), walk around the square, indulge in fresh cheese curd samples, and pick up a bundle of gorgeous flowers from local farmers. Only on Saturdays.

Highly recommend this ~up in the clouds~ wine bar! We had an unforgettable date here where we sat in this exact spot and watched the sunset. They also have the best tacos + fun outdoor patio.
Katie's favorite coffee shop! S'mores mocha is delicious iced or hot. Morning Glory muffin and baked oatmeal are not-to-miss.
Although it is not in the heart of downtown Madison, if guests have a car or bikes, this is worth the trip. It is the BEST bakery ever. Delicious morning buns, scones (gluten free options, too!), french toast, SCC scramble with sausage, coffee (ask for the Princess Cup- its half vanilla, half hazelnut coffee).
This is an hour drive away from Madison and a perfect day-after adventure for those up to it. Wonderful hiking options around a lake with scenic outlooks and camping.
