Katie met Jerica in second grade, when Katie was the new kid in school. When the teacher made them sit together in class, they found they actually had a lot in common and have been best friends ever since! It was a friendship/sisterhood meant to be. Michael is my twin brother and we have a special bond unlike anyone else. We grew up always having one another to lean on. I am lucky to have a twin brother like him and we are always getting along nicely.

Some of your favorite people you meet later in life. It seems as though Katie and Denali were destined to be friends. Their paths continued to cross, finding each other throughout space and time again and again from high school, all the way into college, and beyond. She became more than a friend, she became family. 💕

Brandon is one of my best friends as well. I grew up with him throughout high school and lived with him for a while after school. He is really good at driving and racing things. He took me out boating and camping a lot and his family was always welcoming. If being a professional passenger was a thing I would have him to thank for that because I can lean into a turn better than anyone thanks to him. He is also a good cook and is one of the best athletes I know.

Jackie and Katie go way back. As the older sister of her best friend, Jackie played the big sister role in Katie’s life as well. She was and is a role model, someone to have fun being goofy with, someone to learn from, and a sister held close to the heart. 💕

Bobby is another one of my favorite cousins. I probably spent more time with Bobby as a friend more than anyone else. We are able to be ourselves and just be goofy when with each other. I think I am the most goofy when it's just Bob and I.

Sisters-in-law by chance, but friends by choice, Krissy and Katie formed a new friendship worthy of the sisterly title. A confidant, role model, and so much more, family isn’t always determined by blood. 💕

Frank was one of my best friends growing up. I spent a lot of time at his house hanging out. We are always having a great time together and he is always making me laugh. I enjoy his company like none other and I even lived with him for a little while at one point.

Chelsea and Katie met in college, both attending UAF at the time. So bubbly, so fun, so adventurous! Chelsea and Katie went on many escapades together, finding ways to enjoy the warm Fairbanks summers and make the best of the cold winters. Many cherished memories have been made together. 💕

Tim is one of my favorite cousins. We grew up close in age and always got along. Every time we get a chance to spend some time together it is always a good time. We took a trip to California and had a blast! He is also a great hunter and I've always had fun going out in the country with him and especially the geese hunting trips.

After high school, Katie quickly befriended Lindsay, who was always up for just about anything. From game nights and sleepovers to random dinner dates to much needed talk sessions, she always made the time. Since then Lindsay has not only become a valuable part of Katie’s support system, but also family. 💕

Another best friend growing up was Jesse. We met each other when we were very young because our dads used to hang out and when they hung out we would hang out. We got our own 4-wheelers and motorcycles growing up so he was one of my favorite friends to cruise with. We also enjoyed the same type of games because he was into computers like I was and there are not a lot of people that enjoys technology like we do.
