“I first met David during a game night hosted by a mutual friend while attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I think both of us were too shy to say anything to each other so we didn’t actually recognize each other’s existence until a couple years later. I was taking a break from school, but decided to live in Fairbanks with my brother. David had just returned to UAF after taking a break. I think he was looking for friends to hang out with and he somehow remembered me and sent a message to see if I was still in Fairbanks. We made plans to get together - I loved going to Petsmart to look at the animals and fish 😂 so he agreed to go with me. Then we decided to grab icecream at the little creamery nearby. I remember him being really shy and quiet, but i thought it was so cute. I’m pretty sure he thought my Petsmart plan was super lame because he didn’t talk to me again until at least 2 weeks later! By then it was my birthday, and he secretly planned to take me out on what I’m pretty sure was a date because he took me to a fancy restaurant, just me and him. (He never asked to take me on a date though) He ended up sitting there for about 30 minutes waiting for me to get off the phone because my grandparents called to wish me a happy birthday. Poor guy. When he brought me home, he gave me the cutest card with the cutest note written in it (I still have it!). I don’t know what he was thinking, but he must have really liked me because a week or so later he asked to take me out on an actual date.” ❤️
