Colorful summer attire! We encourage guests to wear cheerful colors such as yellows, blues, reds, pinks, orange, etc. Think long flowy dresses and light breathable fabrics. Slacks or khakis with a collared shirt are perfect. Please avoid jeans and shades of white, ivory, and blush. Also be mindful of the church setting for our ceremony!
Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors! Cocktail hour we hope to do mostly outdoors if the August weather allows, however there will be indoor access for anyone who needs it.
Yes! Drinks, appetizers, dinner, and dessert will be provided. If you have any dietary restrictions, please note them when you RSVP so that we can accommodate you!
Our wedding will be celebrated within a full Catholic nuptial mass, a sacred and joyful liturgy that includes prayer, scripture, music, and the celebration of the Eucharist. The mass typical lasts about one hour. We will be handing out pamphlets to help explain and walk you through the mass!
The Des Moines Heritage Center has a parking lot directly south of the building where guests can park for free. There is another parking lot across the street (northeast) of the Heritage Center that is overflow free parking if the south lot is full. If you are staying at the Embassy downtown, the parking garage to the north of the building across the street is your best bet unless you want to pay for valet parking.
