No we decided to rely on Zola for a few reasons, easy shipping, great deals on products, and we don’t have much shopping in Helena! We also love their policy on cash funds for larger gifts (like the drift boat)!
The ceremony will be hot and dry, August forecasts are typically between 80-90 degrees. Once the sun goes down it will cool off significantly. It will be a good idea to bring a jacket if you plan on staying late and dancing with us! Summer thunderstorms are frequent in MT. Having an umbrella and a jacket to be prepared will also be a good idea.
Our ceremony will be indoors at the Chapel on Carroll College’s campus. Our reception will be outdoors at Shades of Green (approximately a mile away).
Guests are invited to head to the reception venue after the ceremony for a light cocktail hour. Our dear friend, Dan, will be playing live music for our guests to enjoy. Bride and Groom will take family pictures then join the wedding party for a tour downtown before joining guests for the reception.
We are asking our guests to RSVP online as soon as they can. We are trying to limit our guest list in compliance with our county health department requirements. If you know you will not be able to attend, your RSVP will allow us to extend the invitation to family and friends we haven’t been able to invite yet.
We have extended plus one’s to all family and friends with significant others. Because of COVID requirements, at this time, we are asking that our guests do not bring a date that has not been listed on the invitation. We encourage you to please reach out to us if you think we have made a mistake on our invitation or your RSVP card. We want all our guests to feel comfortable and included, while also complying with heath department gathering requirements.
Our wedding weekend is the same weekend as freshman move in days on campus. Please allow extra time for parking and making your way through campus to get to the Chapel. There will also be heath screening questions and temperature checks before you enter the chapel, so please plan on arriving between 2:00 and 2:45pm.
We ask that guests that are willing and able, park in the PE center parking lot and walk to the Chapel. Because our wedding weekend is freshman move in days on campus, we are expecting campus to be rather busy. We would like to save the limited chapel parking for guests that will not be able to walk uphill to the ceremony.
Please RSVP online as soon as you can. We will be complying with all county COVID precautions, including limiting our guest list. Your RSVP will allow us to plan accordingly in order to stay in compliance with county health restrictions.
Short answer: yes. Although, chapel and reception handicapped parking is limited, we will be working to ensure all guests will be able to access both venues easily. Please be aware reception bathrooms, unfortunately, are limited to port-a-potties.
We will be offering a shuttle from the reception venue to the hotels. If you plan on staying late and dancing with us please arrange a safe ride home. Helena does offer uber, however, they are limited.
Short answer: Yes. However, we are asking that our guests refrain from taking photos of the ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer, Jason O’Neil, to photograph our wedding. Please enjoy our ceremony unplugged! We will be posting and sharing our ceremony pictures for all our guests to enjoy. PLEASE take as many pictures of EVERYTHING else! We would love to see the day from your perspective, especially the parts we can’t see! If you post to social media use our wedding hashtags so we can keep track of everyone’s photos #aweddingfortheburks #feelinglikeamillionburks
