Mount Princeton Hot Springs
If you are a guest at the resort, your stay comes with complimentary access to their many amenities which include their hot springs. If you are not a guest, day passes area available for purchase at the front desk, and so come and relax at the many wonderful hot springs on the resort!
CLIMB A "14ER"
Feeling ambitious? The resort is at the base of Mount Princeton, one of 58 Colorado peaks that exceed 14,000 feet in elevation. Please note: even for the most athletic among us, 14ers are difficult to hike and NOT RECOMMENDED for those joining us from a lower elevation. It is highly recommend being acclimated to the elevation before attempting to summit this peak- however, if the mountain is there, why not hike it? Just do your research and plan accordingly if you’re climbing this mountain!
AGNES VAILLE FALLS TRAIL
This is a relatively short hike with stunning views that is located close to the hot springs.
LOST LAKE TRAIL
A short 40-minute drive over Cottonwood Pass to this beautiful trail. There’s lots of hiking trails around the resort for all skill levels (see front desk for suggestions)
SAINT ELMO
Saint Elmo is one of the most accessible and best preserved ghost towns in the West. It’s located just southwest of Buena Vista in Chalk Creek Canyon. 43 buildings remain scattered around: a saloon, courthouse/jail, mercantile, and private homes.
WHITE WATER RIVER RAFTING
Enjoy a group float down the Arkansas river! There are many rafting companies in the area with which you can schedule an adventure down the river! It’s a popular spot for rafting, so you’ll see it offered all over Buena Vista and Salida. There’s different levels of difficulty and full or half days to choose from.
