Mount Ellinor
The most spectacular view of the Olympic Mountains and lots of mountain goat friends along the trail! Moderate-hard difficulty level. About a 2 hour drive from Silverdale, WA.
Moose Lake- Olympic National Park
Moose lake is a beautiful hike in the Olympic National Park, originating near Hurricane Ridge. Starts out along a ridge with a surrounding view of the vast Olympic Mountains and then drops down through beautiful meadows to a quiet, peaceful lake. Moderate difficulty level. About 2 hours from Silverdale, WA. For sure one of our favorite hikes.
Hurricane Ridge
Some of the best views in Washington and available by car! About 2 hours from Silverdale, WA.
Lena Lake
A PNW classic that we have done many times. Easy-moderate hike that would be great for high energy kiddos. About 2.5 hours from Silverdale, WA. For an extra challenge, you could continue on past Lower Lena Lake and conquer Upper Lena Lake but that is definitely a challenge.
Scenic Beach State Park
A great place for a picnic lunch with a view of the hood canal and Olympic Mountains. Also a great place to put in kayaks! Only about 20 minutes from Silverdale, WA.
Dungeness Spit
A great beach for a beach walk or to let the kids play in the sand and driftwood. About 1 hour from Silverdale, WA.
Mount Rainier National Park
It is always a breathtaking experience to be right in the shadow of Mount Rainier. About 2 hours from Silverdale, WA.
San Juan Islands
Would probably require an overnight stay and would be a fun experience if you have a little extra time
