Our story starts back in 2012 when we became friends at the end of 8th grade. Cameron texted me one spring afternoon and we’ve talked just about every day since then. At 13 I started crushing on a boy that made me laugh, showed kindness and sincerity, and was a stud on the track team. I asked Cameron what caught his eye at 14 and he said “You were cute, you didn’t mind me flirting with you, and you were sassy and sarcastic.” Throughout high school we shared many memories of track meets together, school dances with our friends, summers full of hikes and adventures, and we were truly best friends and each other’s biggest supporters. We both knew we wanted to go to different colleges to pursue individual goals, so with Cameron in Bozeman and me in Tacoma, we began a new stage of our relationship- long distance. This stage was/is marked with weekend visits to Bozeman, precious time home for the holidays, countless facetime calls, and watching as many track meets online as possible. Now, at 22, I am in love with a boy who lives his life for Christ, is amazingly patient and selfless, and still makes me laugh. And Cameron says “I love you for the way you encourage me in my faith, because you are passionate and go all in for what you love, and you give the best hugs.” We cannot wait to continue growing, adventuring, and learning about life together.
