GRIZ GAME

This weekend is a home game for the University of Montana. We recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible before the Griz fans swoop in!

Flight

Missoula Airport (MSO)

Easiest airport to fly into! There are 3 flights a day on United from Denver, plus direct flights to other regional cities (Seattle, Portland, Chicago, etc), as well as some seasonal flights in from California.

Flight

Other regional airports

If you can't fly straight into Missoula for some reason, there are a few other airports in the area: Spokane (3 hour drive) Helena, MT (1 hr 45 min drive) Bozeman, MT (3 hour drive) Kalispell, MT (2 hour drive) Butte, MT (1 hr 45 min drive)

Walking vs Bus vs Rental Car in Missoula

If you are staying in downtown Missoula, you probably don't need a rental car if you don't want one. All wedding events are walkable and Uber is available if you want to save yourself some time! The Missoula bus system, Mountain Line, is totally free. It can be a good option for exploring outside the heart of downtown Missoula, getting to grocery stores, etc! There is a free Mountain Line route from the MSO airport to downtown, though their schedule for that can be... limited... so cross-check what time your flight arrives with their website. Uber is an easy option from the airport as well. This is the bus website: https://mountainline.com/ If you are looking to go further afield for hiking & exploring northwest Montana, a rental car is your best bet. There are a few companies at the airport, and Missoula also has a Costco you can rent cars through. If you are driving in for the wedding, bring your bicycle! Missoula is the best for biking- it's totally flat, and has tons of bike paths. You can get pretty much anywhere you need to go on two wheels.

Budget & Other Hotel Options

The Shady Spruce Hostel can be a good budget option and is centrally located. There are a bunch of motels on Broadway in Missoula that are cheap and still walkable to downtown. Unless you're feeling totally wacky, I'd avoid the Thunderbird. Somewhere between motel and Marriott level is the Comfort Inn. The RiverFront Gold Smith's Inn is cute and centrally located, with a limited number of rooms- inquire early to see if they have availability! https://www.goldsmithsinn.com/ AirBnb and Vrbo are also good places to check out rentals in Missoula. Uber and Lyft are available in case you get one that is farther afield.
