Katie's fave is Pattee Canyon (10 min drive) or the Rattlesnake (10 min drive). You don't need a car for the Kim William's trail, which parallels the Clark fork from downtown up into the Hellgate Canyon, or to hike the M above the University. Blue Mountain is a Missoula staple but can be crowded on the weekends! Missoula has great bike paths that crisscross all over town. If you have your mountain bike Marshall Mountain is the best in the area.
It's free!! Always has new rotating exhibits.
A great dog park + river access/swimming if it's hot
Katie's 2nd home in Missoula.
Another great dive bar.
Katie's favorite brewery in town
One of our favorite restaurants in Missoula
Nicest grocery store for hours in any direction. Good salad/hot food bar for lunch
Cute coffee shop + bakery
Serious taxidermy- come here for a real ~Montana~ vibe
30 minute drive, free, and beautiful
A bit of a drive (40 min) but very cool old logger's bar. Good to pair with a visit to Weir/ Jerry Johnson hot springs
Farther afield- about an hour drive. Beautiful natural hot springs. Be careful as you've crossed into the Idaho panhandle. It's weird up there.
