We both attended Florida Southern College and met in genetics lab. We sat across from each other the whole semester, but that's not where the real story began. We sparked a friendship throughout that semester and talked all summer. Then we worked on campus together in the fall, became close friends and started dating in the spring!

After exploring the big island of Hawaii all day, we stopped at the Mauna Kea Observatories visitor center located 9,200ft up the side of the dormant Mauna Kea volcano. Standing outside, to the right was a double rainbow and the left was a fire-like sunset. That was the moment. Next thing you know Brenden was kneeling on the rocky mountainside, Katie said yes through the happiest tears she could cry and the rest is history!
