The Wedding Website of Katherine Elyse Olson and Bradley Alan O’Brien
You’ll find all the Q&A your heart desires right here! And if we somehow didn’t answer a question you have, feel free to reach out to either of us.
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is Garden Party Black Tie Optional — an evening mixed with classic style, light fabrics, fun or traditional colors, and patterns. Think polished & sophisticated, but summery & comfortable. With the most important thing being that you’re ready to dance the night away! * Please note - The ceremony will be held on the back lawn of the mansion facing the Long Island Sound, with cocktails to held on the patio & in the gardens. Though the mansion doesn’t have air conditioning, a regular ocean breeze drifts through to keep the evening comfortable. Dinner will be held throughout the inside of the mansion, while dancing will be on the patio under the tent.

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow time for parking, walking/riding to the ceremony location, finding your seat, & getting settled.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by Friday, July 24, 2026 so we can finalize details with all our vendors. If you don’t respond by 7/24/26, please bring a chair & sandwich, it’s a beautiful park after all!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We adore your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you understand & can still join us.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We’d love to celebrate with everyone (really we mean it), but due to extremely strict space limitations with the venue, we can only accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Inclement weather?

Answer

This celebration of love will be happening rain or shine.

Question

What’s on the menu?

Answer

We’ll be serving a variety of food throughout the evening including dinner stations (come hungry!). There will be vegan, vegetarian & gluten free options available. If you have dietary restrictions including these or outside of these, please let us know with your RSVP. And yes, we’ll have an open bar with beer, wine, and cocktails available throughout the evening.

Question

How long will the event last?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 4:00pm, with dinner, dancing & fun to follow until 11:00pm. Make sure you have your morning (& afternoon?) coffee!

Question

Is the ceremony & reception at the same venue?

Answer

Yes! Everything will be held at the Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park, so once you arrive, you can relax & enjoy the full celebration in one spot.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Free parking is available on-site, and a designated wedding only section will be roped off. Look for parking attendants who will help direct you when you arrive. No you do not have to pay for parking! Also, a golf cart will be available if you are unable to walk to the ceremony site and need assistance.

Question

What’s the address for the venue?

Answer

275 Great Neck Road, Waterford, CT, 06385

Question

Will there be traffic?

Answer

Yes, of course, it’s Connecticut! lol. Please plan to leave early to account for traffic and possible accidents, vacation congestion, construction, etc. If you get to the venue a little early, great! Feel free to relax or leisurely walk around the park/waterfront for a bit (& take some super IG worthy selfies!).

Question

Can we take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We’d love for everyone to be present & grounded along with us throughout the ceremony, so please refrain from taking phone pictures. If you absolutely MUST take photos or videos with your phone, keep it so discrete no one will know! (For example - don’t hold your phone in the aisle or up in the air). Our very talented photographers get first dibs on all the most amazing shots.

Question

Day of contact?

Answer

If you have any day-of questions, concerns or emergencies please contact either one of our amazing moms: Lori O’Brien (203)-260-1232 or Jeanne Olson-Wilson (908)-917-3190 by text or phone.
