General Travel Information

We are SO excited that you'll be joining us in Southern Maine to celebrate our special day! However, since our beautiful state is "vacationland" there will be LOTS of tourists and visitors also visiting Southern Maine this August. This means that hotels and other accommodations may be expensive and book out quickly. To help you secure housing for the wedding weekend, we have block-booked 30 rooms at a nearby hotel at a fixed rate (we tried to find something moderately reasonable!) and are providing a shuttle service from this hotel to our wedding venue. However, you are also welcome to arrange your own accomodations through other hotels, AirBnB, or with friends and family! PLEASE NOTE: Parking is limited at the venue, so when you RSVP please let us know if you plan on bringing your own vehicle so that we can ensure that everyone has a space. If you can arrange a carpool, that would be great! Also, if you bring your own vehicle, you MUST assign a designated driver to get you home safely. You are also welcome to take advantage of the shuttle service, even if you are not staying at either of the hotels! We do not recommend relying on Uber or cab services to get to and from the wedding venue because these services may be unreliable in August.

Bus Bank Shuttle Service

August 13, 2022 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Our shuttle service will pick up guests at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn (700 Main Street, South Portland) at 2pm on Saturday, August 13th to bring people to Beech Ridge Barn for the 3pm ceremony. The shuttle will depart Beech Ridge once at 8:30pm (after dinner and toasts) and once at 10:30pm (when the music stops). You are welcome (and encouraged!) to take advantage of the shuttle service even if you are not staying at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn. Simply show up at the hotel in time for the 2pm pick-up to utilize the shuttle service.

Best Western Merry Manor Inn

We have block-booked 30 rooms at the fixed rate of $239 (+ tax) per night for Friday, August 12th to Sunday, August 14th (two nights). There are 15 rooms available with one king bed and 15 rooms with two queen beds, however both are the same price. The price will increase by $10 for every additional person staying in the room. The rooms are pet-friendly and rates include breakfast, as well as access to WiFi, the heated outdoor pool, and the fitness center. The hotel is located 10 minutes from Beech Ridge Barn, 10 minutes from downtown Portland, and 15 minutes from Scarborough Beach. PLEASE NOTE: To take advantage of this block-booking, contact the hotel by JULY 1st and ask for "the Burns-Williams wedding" so that you can reserve a room. You can contact the hotel via phone or through email at info@merrymanorinn.com. This is a first-come, first-served opportunity and rooms may go quickly. This will be the pick-up location for our shuttle service, which will pick you up for the wedding at 2:00pm on Saturday (wedding day!!!) and will drop you off again after the wedding at either 8:30pm or 10:30pm.

Flight

Boston Logan International Airport & Concord Coach Lines

This is probably the cheapest option for those flying in, while still being relatively convenient! There are Concord Coach Lines buses that leave from Boston Logan International Airport and will take you to Portland, ME (see link) - about a 1.5 hour journey. There is no car rental service at the Portland Transportation Center, however you can get a cab/Uber from the station to either your hotel or car rental company. Some car rental companies, such as Enterprise, may also be willing to meet you there with a car!

Flight

Portland International Jetport

This is the most convenient option for those flying in, however it is quite expensive! Portland is only 10 minutes away from Scarborough and there are lots of transportation options available at the airport (see link).
