FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will start promptly at 6:00PM. Please arrive by 5:30PM to find your seats. Shuttles will be provided from the Monte Carlo Bay Resort. Please plan to meet at the shuttle by 5:00pm. If staying off property, we encourage you to meet at the MCBR and take the shuttle, or to arrange private transportation. Note that there is NO parking at the wedding day villa, and ubers/taxis are limited.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We can’t wait to see everyone dressed to the nines! To complement the elegant setting of our celebration, we kindly request black tie optional attire. Women can wear floor length gowns and men can opt for a black tuxedo or suit. For Gentlemen: A well-tailored suit and tie. While a tuxedo is always welcome in Monaco, it is certainly not required. For Ladies: A floor-length gown. A Note on Footwear While we love a high-fashion moment, our celebration will take place across a variety of terrains, including cobblestone paths and grass. To ensure you can move comfortably throughout the evening, we strongly advise against wearing thin stilettos. Block heels, wedges, or dressy flats will be your best friends for navigating the Riviera in style.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but we’ve decided to host a child-free celebration. We hope this gives you a chance to truly relax and enjoy a well-deserved long weekend away in the French Riviera! Think of it as your own mini-vacation—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We recommend staying at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, as this will be our host hotel where we will be staying and transportation will depart from. Please check the Travel page of our website for additional information as we will continue to update it.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Please note it in your RSVP, or reach out to our planner, Caroline, at caroline@eventsbypurelavish.com with any special requests or concerns.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Shuttles will be provided to/from the Monte Carlo Bay Resort. Please plan to meet at the shuttle by 5:00pm. If staying off property, we encourage you to meet at the MCBR and take the shuttle, or to arrange private transportation. Note that there is NO parking at the wedding day villa, and ubers/taxis are limited.

Question

What is the best airport to fly into?

Answer

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) is the closest international hub. It is approximately 30-40 minutes from Monaco by car, or a 7-minute flight by helicopter.

Question

Will the events take place outdoors?

Answer

Our entire celebration will take place outdoors to fully embrace the late August sunset and the sea air. While the evenings are usually balmy, the Mediterranean sun can be quite warm during the ceremony. We recommend lightweight fabrics to keep you cool until the sun goes down.

Question

Do I need a visa to visit France and Monaco?

Answer

If you are a U.S. Citizen traveling for less than 90 days, you do not need a traditional visa. However a new travel authorization called ETIAS is required for all visa-exempt travelers (including Americans) entering the Schengen Area (France/Monaco).

Question

What is ETIAS and how do I get it?

Answer

ETIAS is a simple online registration (similar to the U.S. ESTA) designed to enhance border security. You can apply online via the official ETIAS website or mobile app. Most approvals are granted within minutes. Cost: Approximately €7 (roughly $8 USD). Validity: Once approved, it is valid for 3 years (or until your passport expires). Timing: We recommend applying at least one month before travel just in case your application requires manual review.

Question

What are the passport validity requirements?

Answer

European border authorities are very strict about passport expiration dates. To ensure a smooth arrival: The 3-Month Rule: Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from Europe. The 10-Year Rule: Your passport must have been issued within the last 10 years. Our Recommendation: To avoid any issues at the gate, we suggest your passport has at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date of your arrival.

Question

Do I need a different visa for Monaco?

Answer

No. Monaco has an open border with France. Once you have cleared customs in France, you can travel freely into the Principality.
