Rafting! On Friday! RSVP to join the fun!
Please click the "VIEW" button to fill out a google form if you wish to go rafting with us on Friday. It is one of our most favorite pass times, and we would love to share it with our friends and family! We will raft the upper section of the South Fork American River (Chili bar), we will leave around 9:30am on Friday, have lunch on the river and be done around 2:00. All experience levels are welcome! Local, CA friends, we'd love to have you help us guide our family downstream! Reach out to us if that sounds fun to you. We hope to have a giant floatilla, costumes, and silly shenanigans all day.
Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park
This historic park is located in the center of Coloma. It is about a 6 minute walk from our venue location! It is wheelchair accessible, self-guided tour or guided tour options. Great coffee shop at this park called "Argonaut" Note from website: "Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park is pleased to offer visitors guided walking tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily! This is a 45 minute walking tour of the park. "
Hiking Trails!
Coloma is a great place to hike, trail run or take a nice stroll. For some nice trail options, google some of the following trails: Monroe Ridge Trail (can access this from the Gold Marshall State Park) Dave Moore Nature Area (about a 1.5 mile hike to the river and under shaded oaks) Magnolia Ranch Trailhead (Katie's favorite 3 mile loop is called Gerle loop) Cronan Ranch (trails system, great for mtn biking or longer trail runs)

Apple Hill!
September is apple season! About a 35 min drive from Coloma, is apple capitol of CA! It is halfway between Coloma and South Lake Tahoe. Weekends can lead to lots of traffic, so just keep that in mind. Everything apple from jam, doughnuts, pie, fritters, and cider, this is the place! There are over 50 establishments to browse, but we recommend any of the "you-pick" orchards or wineries.
David Girard Vineyards
Wine tasting! A nice, casual winery about 10 minutes from our wedding venue. Their tasting room is generally open Fri-Sun, consider a reservation for large groups, but I don't think it is necessary.
