This is one of the coolest museums we have ever been to and is a great place to go if you have a good bit of time to kill after landing at Dulles.

There is so much history in our little town from Colonial sites to a bajillion Civil War battlefields. There's too much to list but George Washington's childhood home at Ferry Farm is just the tip of the historic iceberg.
Maymont is a 100 acre Victorian estate with a mansion, traditional Italian and Japanese gardens, a petting zoo, wildlife exhibits and a nature center.
The botanical garden is just outside of Richmond it has a conservatory, a rose garden, and a ton of other gardens/ exhibits (sometimes there's a butterfly garden!!)

Wild Hare has fantastic ciders and is in the heart of Downtown which is a great place to take a walk!
