In the classiest of fashions, we met at our favorite dive bar, ACs. I was there with some of my girl friends and Glenn was there with some of his guy friends. Glenn’s friends left, so he was sitting alone at a booth when I noticed him. After several drinks, I got the courage to go over and ask him to join us. He came over and joined our table and we hit it off!

I sought the help of Katie’s friends to help me pick out the perfect ring. We bought tickets to an all-inclusive event at The Rice Mill downtown for New Years Eve, and I planned to do it then. I contacted the event planner for the Rice Mill and we set up the surprise. On the night of, I was nervous along with everyone else who knew. After the ball dropped, we had planned for the DJ to announce the “raffle winner”. Katie’s name was announced as the winner and she was over the moon excited! They pulled her to the front and were telling her the details as I stood behind and got down on one knee. The DJ told Katie to turn around for her next surprise, where she saw me kneeling. I popped the question with all of our close friends beside us, and she said YES! We spent the rest of the night celebrating. One of the best nights of our lives, and we’re looking forward to many more together.
