Getting to Lakedale

It is very possible to complete the trip in a weekend, but we hope you'll consider taking extra time if possible! At a minimum we recommend flying to Seattle on Thursday afternoon/evening, staying in Seattle for the night, and traveling to Lakedale on Friday morning. If you're traveling from elsewhere on the West Coast it would also be possible to fly in Friday morning and go straight to Lakedale. Please let Katie and Erik know if you would like to extend your stay at Lakedale before or after the weekend reservation. Almost all guests can stay at Lakedale, so we will be contacting you with information about booking your spot. Lakedale does allow you to reserve rooms before and after the wedding weekend if you would like to bookend your trip with extra vacation days on San Juan Island. Please let Katie and Erik know if you are interested in extending your stay at Lakedale before or after the wedding.

We have the whole site booked, so don't worry about securing your room! We will be assigning lodging so that when it comes time to make arrangements all you need to do is call the venue and give them your name. Accommodations include lodge rooms, log cabins, yurts, and canvas 'glamping' cabins. Tent camping is also available for those interested. To fit everyone most people will have to share space with another person or couple. Erik and Katie will be reaching out to everyone about arrangements later in the spring. If you feel strongly about having your own space, please let us know, but be aware that space is tight and it may mean you'll have off-site lodging. Please let Katie and Erik know if you are interested in extending your stay at Lakedale before or after the wedding.

Flight

Shuttle from Seattle International Airport (SEA)

Depending on flight time, some guests may be able to take a shuttle to Friday Harbor from SeaTac Airport. The shuttle departs SeaTac airport once each scheduled day between 11:00 a.m and 12:00 p.m depending on Ferry schedule and arrives in Friday Harbor between 3:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m. $49.99 Friday Harbor to SeaTac airport, includes Ferry fare $56.54 SeaTac airport to Friday Harbor, includes Ferry fare Call 360-378-7438 to reserve.

Rental Car

By Car (Part 1): Rental Car at Seattle International Airport

Guests can rent a car in Seattle and drive to Anacortes (1.5 hours north of Seattle) and take a ferry to Friday Harbor.

By Car (Part 2): Taking the Ferry

The first set of ferry reservation spots will be released at 7am (PST) on April 23rd! We absolutely encourage all guests who will be driving to the island to make their vehicle reservations in advance! If their most preferred sailing time isn't available, definitely make a reservation regardless - even if it's not the ideal time. You can always try to change the reservation when the second (two weeks prior) and third (two days prior) tiers are released. If you plan to take the ferry, you will need a car to get to Anacortes from Seattle.

By Boat: The Clipper

Passenger-only ferry service with seasonal daily departures to the San Juan Islands. Guests can take "The Clipper" from Seattle in the morning and it will drop you off in Friday Harbor. This is a good option for people who don't want to rent a car. Promo code for 10% off: KELAKEDALEWED

Guests can take a seaplane from Lake Union in Seattle to the marina in Friday Harbor.
