The Wedding of Harry Watt & Katia Wilson

Harry and Katia grew up on opposite ends of the world. Harry was born in Scotland and moved to Muscat, Oman when he was five years old. He eventually moved back to Scotland to obtain an MSc in Economics at the University of Glasgow. In his second summer there, he travelled to New Hampshire to work as a basketball coach at Camp Walt Whitman. Katia was born and raised in Iowa all her life, until she moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego, studying Elementary Education. In summer 2021, she travelled to New Hampshire to work as a camp counselor at Camp Walt Whitman, where Harry was returning for his second summer. In 2021, Harry and Katia knew each other by name, but not much more. They were both falling in love with New Hampshire summers, and decided to return in Summer '22. This is where their lives began to intertwine, becoming fast friends. With both of them finding any excuse to play a game or a sport, never being able to sit down or rest, and laughing together all hours of the day, their friendship grew all summer long. Over the course of the next year, they stayed in touch and kept each other up to date on their lives. With Katia studying abroad in Oxford and Harry being in Scotland for the time being, they met up in Scotland and saw Harry's home country together! In Summer '23, they both made the decision to go back to camp one last time. Their friendship grew even closer, with both of them being the person the other turned to for comfort on hard days, to share news, or just to hang out with. Both Katia and Harry left camp early that summer. Katia returned to San Diego for her first teaching job, and Harry went to Salt Lake City to pursue a Masters in Finance at the University of Utah. They continued to keep in touch, and they would see each other in San Diego when Harry would go to visit his childhood best friend who also lived there. In the early Spring of 2024, Harry came out to see that old friend again and saw Katia, except this time things felt different. They fell for each other in a way they had both never felt before, and soon after they decided to start dating on March 30, 2024. After two years of being close friends and one wonderful year of being in a relationship, Katia had decided she was all in and would plan leaving her favorite city on the planet to move to Salt Lake City in June 2025 to be with Harry. He had also decided he was all in, and bought an engagement ring on March 17, 2025. After sitting on it for six and a half weeks, Harry proposed in Santa Barbara on May 2, 2025.
