Welcome Party

8:00 pm

Join us for a casual drink the night before the wedding! Kindly RSVP to give us a headcount, but no commitment and no obligation :) Dress code is dressy casual, so think casual dresses, polos, nice sweaters, slacks or nice jeans (Alex reminds guests that Hawaiian shirts fall into this category). This is a casual bar so feel free to dress up or down as much as you want!

Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, & Reception

4:30 pm - 11:00 pm

The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30pm. Cocktail hour and reception to follow. Dress code is formal, so think floor length formal dresses, fancy cocktail dresses, formal jumpsuits, suits of any color, etc.

Walk to see the cherry blossoms

We're lucky, peak bloom is forecasted for this weekend!! We will venture into DC to take a cherry blossom walk around the Tidal Basin trail Saturday. Highs will be in the 50s so dress warm! This will be a casual activity with no obligation to attend :)

Alex & Katherine will meet at the Ashburn metro station around 1pm on Saturday to metro (silver line) to the Smithsonian stop (~1hr train ride). We will walk to the Washington Monument then down to the Tidal Basin. Feel free to travel with us or meet us there. *Traffic and parking will be horrible in this area due to tourist activity. We strongly advise taking the metro, or allowing ample time if you choose to Uber or drive/park in DC. **IMPORTANT** there will be a large protest on the National Mall this day from 10a-5p directly on our route from the Smithsonian metro to the Tidal Basin. These protests are very safe but we WILL have to walk through crowds. If that's not your thing, you can also see cherry blossoms at the Congressional Cemetery (take silver metro line to Stadium-Armory stop) with much fewer crowds.
