Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kathryn Doherty and Jesse Stinnett
DIY visit to the Glacier area Our venue is about 1/2 mile outside of the Park's West Glacier entrance. If you prefer a DIY (“Do It Yourself”) vacation, you can enjoy the endless opportunities for hiking, camping, and sightseeing along the "Going-to-the-Sun" Road in the Park, and elsewhere in nearby Whitefish and Kalispell. A Park reservation and pass are needed to enter the National Park and that information can be found at www.recreation.gov (put “Glacier National Park” in the box). Do take your bear spray so you make it to our wedding on Tuesday, Sept. 6th, at 5:00 pm! We truly hope this will be an amazing adventure for all of you who are able to come! If there is any way in which we can help you with your transportation, accommodations, activities, or anything else, please don’t hesitate to ask us! ~ Jesse & Kathryn
Hiking

Hiking

There are fabulous hiking trails inside the Park! For more information: https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/hikingthetrails.htm One of the most popular hikes in all of Montana is Glacier Park’s Highline Trail (12 miles). These websites have some helpful tips before you go: https://www.hikespeak.com/trails/highline-trail-glacier/ https://www.travelawaits.com/2562518/highline-trail-glacier-national-park-things-to-know If hiking, Bear Spray is a “must!” It can be purchased at Costco in Kalispell (if available) or rented at the airport or at Apgar inside the Park. If renting, a reservation is required and the short YouTube video on “How to Properly Use Bear Spray” must be watched.

Sightseeing

Sightseeing

There are 2 great ways to more painlessly see the sights of Glacier National Park: D.I.Y. DRIVE: There are plenty of websites such as those below to help you design an itinerary for your drive-through park visit. You will need a vehicle reservation purchased online in advance (www.recreation.gov select the “Going-to-the-Sun Road;” $2 for a 3-day pass) & a National Park pass ($35 for a 7-day pass), which can be purchased at the Park entrance gate. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/gettingaround.htm https://www.allglacier.com/scenic_drives/ RED BUS TOUR: These semi-open air buses started in the 1920’s and the reviews say their drivers offer invaluable history and park information, as well as a lot of fun! They stop to give you a chance to walk a bit and take pictures. The price ranges from $46-74 depending on the tour you select. You avoid the park entry fee if you have a reservation (and receipt) for one of these tours. https://www.glaciernationalparklodges.com/red-bus-tours
