Jeremy and I had both been in our jobs for a couple of years and established relationships that still give us a lot of joy, love and support. We were both enjoying the lives we had. We went on our first date in Burlington, NC at Mykonos Grill, because honestly at that point neither one of us wanted to be the one that drove the entire distance from Raleigh to Winston Salem. We had already talked on the phone, so much of the normal first date questions were out of the way making the first date more relaxed. During the next two weeks, we continued to talk on the phone often, and decided since I would be close anyways Memorial Day weekend I would come to Raleigh to hangout that Monday. We quickly learned that our relationship was going to be build on verbal communication because it was all we had most of the time. Kathryn distinctively remembers the conversation in the car on the way to the airport for Linda Kurtz and my two week across country trip (July 2015). I tried my hardest to politely say please don't meet any one, and we will try to talk and text as much as possible without being disrespectful to Linda and my girl time! Thankfully after I returned, Jeremy and I both decided the other person was worth all the not always fun planning logistics that come with a two different city relationship. Throughout it has been clear that we both strongly value our families, friends and the opportunity to grow individually as a part of our relationship. We continued to practice these values as we dated and grew closer becoming engaged January 13, 2018. We still trust in God's plan, and realize it will have celebrations and challenges, but we are both so grateful to experience the journey together.
