Kathryn and Jake first met at a coffee shop in Tampa in 2019. It was their first date and a child riding on his bike had just been hit by a car. They decided to sit with him and comfort him while the authorities were called (The boy was okay). A two-hour date turned into six. The two didn't want the date to end just yet so they passed the time laughing in the mall with Jake's best friend and Kathryn's sister. Before they realized it twelve hours had passed. Their effortless connection brought them together and they've been together ever since. During college, Kathryn would always joke with her friends that her prince charming was lost in the ocean riding a turtle. It turns out he was close to the turtles hiding in Florida. Jake proposed to Kathryn on one of her favorite holidays, Christmas eve in Missouri December 24, 2020. Kathryn thought she was going to spend the holiday alone with her family, but Jake had planned with her parents, sister Lara, and close friends to fly down and surprise her. Jake called it "Operation Christmas Surprise" and documented the entire journey from Florida to Missouri. There were tears of joy, roses specially ordered, and Jake nervously down on one knee. Needless to say, a very overjoyed Kathryn said yes! They can't wait to celebrate with you at their wedding ceremony and reception in February!
