If you would like to experience New Orleans as a local, skip Bourbon St. and head to Frenchman Street! You will find a lot of great bars and restaurants as well as some pristine people-watching!
Fun Fact: Chris and I went to the infamous Carousel Bar (located in the Monteleone Hotel) on our first date! Needless to say, we had a blast!
This is my absolute favorite bar in New Orleans! The world-famous piano bar is a MUST! After a hurricane (or two haha) even Chris was singing along!
If you are in town for a few nights and would like a fancy dinner or brunch, this is our favorite restaurant in New Orleans! The jazz brunch on the weekends is to die for and is always a super fun time! Pro Tip: 1) make a reservation ASAP- they book up fast! 2) On the reservation, say it's your birthday (everyone does this and it's really fun!) 3) Order the bread pudding soufflé! It's world-famous and unlike any other dessert you have ever had. You won't regret it!
Excellent Poboys! No frills, just great food!
No New Orleans trip is complete without drinking the infamous Sazerac cocktail which was invented in New Orleans! And there is no better place to try it than the Sazerac House. This is a completely free walking tour (at your own pace) where you can see how it is made and sample different cocktails. It is also a fabulous place to escape the heat since it is air-conditioned! No need for reservations!
