The closest airport to Banff/Canmore area is The Calgary International Airport in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is about a 90 minute drive. Cars are able to be rented; however, there are also shuttles and buses that you can purchase a ticket for and will take you from the airport to where you are staying in Canmore or Banff.
Travel Note
The wedding events will be located in Canmore. However, guests can also stay in Banff as that is only about 20 minutes away and has many beautiful sites to see as well. The two cities are very walkable and have great public transportation (Roam Transit) and taxi services to get guests around if you would rather not rent a car as Ubers/Lyfts are not available in Banff or Canmore. HOWEVER, as August is part of their busy season, taxis may be hard to find at some parts of the day. House Or Rental
Although we have discounts at various hotels listed below, for the more cost effective/mindful option, we recommend checking out Airbnb and other rental/travel websites as we have heard from people in the area that can be a better/cheaper lodging option (expedia, hotels.com, etc.). The reception space is located at the Solara Resort which has condos that people rent out on Airbnb and are a much better price than going through the resort website (even the venue recommended this). Airbnbs are especially great if you are planning on staying with multiple people!
