Maid of Honor
The story of my friendship with Katie begins in third grade. Our friendship began by her asking me to go apple picking with her family. The rest is history, we have been best friends ever since. Katie and I would spend so much time together growing up that my mom would end up calling wondering if I would ever come home on the weekends. Katie and I were having too much fun playing The Sims, Nancy Drew, terrorizing her little brother Sam, or enjoying a heaping bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream. We have gone through life’s ups and downs together and continue to take on the world before us, even from miles apart. Katie is the peanut butter to my jelly, the cream to my coffee, the cream cheese to my bagel. We are just two peas in a pod, and when we’re together there is nothing we cannot do.
Best Man
Kodey and I met on my first day on the planet, because he is my brother. Our friendship did not get off to an easy start. Again, we are brothers. We were very different but, even though we didn’t get along I always knew that above everything he had my back. As we grew, fist fights became arguments, arguments became disagreements, disagreements became conversations, and conversations led to friendship. True, natural, pure friendship. He is unequivocally my best friend. We have literally been through everything together. Every trip, every neighborhood adventure, every injury, every game, and every Harry Potter movie marathon. Through it all, he’s my brother and I’m beyond honored to stand next to him on his wedding.

Katie and I met at work. One of our coworkers said, “Oh, Katie. This is Ashley. She and her boyfriend like breweries, too!" Then, fast forward to that same night we ran into each other. Katie became one of my best friends overnight. I can’t say enough good things about her as a person and especially as a friend. She is the type of person who will do anything for anyone and has a heart of gold. I can’t quite put into words just how much her friendship means to me and how I can not wait to stand by her side as she marries her best friend. Kode, I can’t let it go unnoticed that you’re also a great friend, person and soon too be husband. Thank you for being the great friend that you are and thank you for making one of my best friends so happy. Cheers to love, laughter and happily ever after!

I met Kodey during sibling’s weekend March 2014–when I still shaved my head and looked like Caillou. In all seriousness, I remember Katie and Kodey were great friends early on, and I could see chemistry there. Kodey and I have always had a lighthearted relationship, with a whole lot of memes in the conversations! We share a love for Katie, and of course that’s how we’re where we are today! I’ll always think of the smoothies in Charlie’s at Assumption and the talent shows that we went to, the parties and cheap drinks. My first drink with them was actually a vodka lemonade courtesy of Katie (decent bartender). The memories will always be fantastic. Assumption was the basis of our relationship, and I wouldn’t want it any other way! Cheers to a new beginning and endless happiness with Kate!

One hundred twenty-six. One thousand twenty-nine. That’s a sample of the miles our friendship has overcome. Contradicting a long-distance friendship, I met Katie the night her and Kodey made their relationship official. I didn’t know her as Katie yet, but rather one half of a beaming couple in a Bentley dorm room. Fast forward two and a half years when I started dating her boyfriend’s best friend and she exclaimed to me, “So we’re the girlfriends!” Luckily, we leveled up to girl friends before she dropped her title as Kodey’s girlfriend for a fancier one. Despite distance, I’m grateful Katie is always just one call away (seriously, she’s never missed a call). I can always count on Katie for honesty and cute cat photos, so I’m honored to stand by her side while she marries her other half.

From t-ball to the wedding hall, we made it a long way my friend. Whenever I have news, Kodey is the default friend to share with. I can always count on him to be enthusiastic and genuinely excited for me, whether it’s landing a new job or simply getting a new pair of shorts. Anyone would be lucky to know Kodey and I’m especially lucky to call him my friend. It’s an honor to stand by Kodey as he marries his best friend, Katie.

When I first met Katie, I knew she was a very special person. She became someone I could count on, whether it be serious or just another rant session. I love the friendship that we share with Katie and Kodey. The four of us have spent many hours together day drinking, having fires and chatting for hours. We became closer than ever when our daughter was born. They never turned us down for a slow night at home. The more you are around them, you see that they are a perfect match. They bring light and laughter everywhere they go. They never hesitate to show each other how much they care but also aren’t afraid to put one another in their place. Watching their relationship grow over the years has been so fun. I love their love and I am honored to stand by their sides as they begin their forever.

Kodey and I went to Clarksburg Elementary school together and that’s where we first met. We have been best friends since 8th grade, when I asked him to sleep over my house the night before our 8th grade trip. My friendship with Kodey has been a whirlwind, from elementary school, to out of college, and into the real world. From times of blasting “22” by Taylor Swift after my hockey games and almost sliding off the road in an ice storm, to multiple trips to the Dominican Republic together, and to being in his wedding party, I wouldn’t change anything about our friendship for the world. Kodey is a little teddy bear (although much stronger than he realizes) and I couldn’t be happier for him to marry someone like Katie. Here’s to you guys, and many, many happy years together. Love you both!

The way life works is truly remarkable. One day you don’t know someone at all and the next day that perfect stranger is your best friend. That’s sort of how mine and Katie’s friendship happened but not exactly. It wasn’t quite as instantaneous but it was certainly meant to be. Just when life knew I needed a friend the most, Katie showed up and never left. Now, Katie is my late night phone call, my two hour FaceTime, my longest Snapchat streak and my personal diary. She’s my best friend and I cannot wait to stand beside her as she finally marries hers.

A friendship that started mainly because we rode the same bus in kindergarten. Some time within these last 20 years Kodey has become my favorite hug, the reason behind so many laughs, and the best shoulder to cry on. From those kids on bus 4, to 20 somethings figuring out their lives, we have been there for each other every step of the way. I would hope by now Kodey knows he is stuck with me forever. I have watched Kodey and Katie’s relationship from the very beginning and it’s always just made sense. I couldn’t be more excited to stand next to my best friend as he marries his soulmate.

Katie and Kodey are the type of friends that are so welcoming that you feel like you have known them forever. I am so thankful to have met Katie and Kodey through Ashley and our friendship grew quickly from there. I love how we share our love of cooking and trying new things. We have had so much fun, yet our quiet morning coffees to catch up and support each other have to be my favorite. I’m so thankful to have this amazing couple in my life and wish both Katie and Kodey all the happiness in the world.

It's hard to remember my first interaction with Kodey, but what I can tell you is that it was September of 2000. Since our days as small Kindergarteners, we have created countless memories and shared endless laughs. Picking a favorite memory with Kodey seems impossible, but something I do know is that Kodey will always be there for me and there are many more memories to be made. I have loved sharing all of life's moments with Kodey over the last 20+ years. I am so excited to stand by his side on his wedding day. Here's to you Kodey & Katie, many years of happiness, love, and midnight McDonald runs.

I don't remember the first time I met Katie, but I do know that over the years she has become such a big part of my life. She started off as Kodey’s girlfriend, then moved onto my singing instructor. It wasn't long after that she became one of my role models and a big sister to me. She has helped me in so many ways, not just with my singing, but with advice. She is a great listener and a great friend! However, as much as I love Katie, I need to thank Kodey as well, if it wasn't for him being my cousin, Katie wouldn't have even been in my life. I wish you both the best and a life full of happiness and love!
