Before swiping left or swiping right was a thing we openly talked about, Elvin and Kathleen baited their fishing lines and hooked each other! The two met on the dating app Plenty of Fish during the summer of 2013. They spent their first date eating Thai food in Manhattan- ladies, one of the top rules of dating is order the steak, unfortunately for Kathleen there was no ribeye steak to order. Soon after Kathleen got her chance to order ribs when the two went on a date to a rib joint before the two drove to watch Despicable Me 2 Kathleen's favorite little critters. Over the years they've gone on many adventures together. Mostly outdoors and at various zoos and aquariums in the tri-state area.
Ever have a car that constantly needed attention... mechanical attention. Elvin's car is the prime example of this and was perfect to set Kathleen up for a trick. When Elvin tells Kathleen there's a rattling noise coming from the front, passenger side door and he'll need her helping fixing it she didn't think anything suspicious. On that warm sunny June day in 2019 when Elvin comes to pick Kathleen up he tells her she needs to sit in the car while he fiddles with the panel under the passenger seat. Down on one knee, fiddling he tells her he needs a piece of cardboard and he should have a piece in the visor. When Kathleen opens the visor something falls out- the ENGAGEMENT RING!
