We met in high school Spanish class and somehow ended up sitting next to each other for two years straight. Most of that time was spent helping each other with homework. During our second year of Spanish, Kate’s friend Katie invited her to a get together at her house. Kate had not seen her in years and went to catch up. Ronin was there too. It was the first time they’d seen each other outside of Spanish class, and they spent the evening catching up. After that, everything shifted. The two of them were constantly texting, laughing through class, and eventually got separated to opposite sides of the room because they couldn’t stop talking. That summer, they were inseparable. Ronin got a job at the barn where Kate rode so they could spend more time together. Kate took summer classes for college, and Ronin helped her with essays while they sat at Rock City or Mt Diablo. One night, Ronin asked Kate to go to Rock City to watch the sunset. They picked up pizza, climbed up onto the rocks, and sat there as the sun went down. That night, Ronin and Kate had their first kiss. Two weeks later, Ronin asked her to be his girlfriend. Seven and a half years on, life together looks like two cats, two horses, and five foster dogs along the way. They travel whenever they can, spend as much time as possible with friends, and share a goddaughter they absolutely adore. What started in a high school Spanish class has turned into a life we love - and we can’t wait to celebrate it with you.
