Dress Code: WTF Does "Garden Black Tie Optional" Mean?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie Optional. Tuxedoes are encouraged but not required; a black suit is perfectly appropriate! For dresses, please have fun with the garden party environment, with an eye towards formality: Floral gowns and full-length dresses would be gorgeous. Please avoid white, floor-length gowns and veils (ok, Alexis Rose), but don't stress patterns that include whites and creams. Please wear them! But also keep in mind that our ceremony will take place on grass. We recommend shoe caps for any narrow heels.

At What Time Should I Arrive at the Ceremony?

Please arrive to Hildene by no later than 5:15 to allow for a prompt start to the ceremony!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will be providing shuttle transportation to and from the ceremony and the after-party. Shuttles will depart from The Kimpton Taconic Hotel and The Hampton Inn. Please visit the Travel section of the website for the deets!

We love your children, but the ceremony and reception are adults-only. We're excited to celebrate with you and hope you can enjoy a parents' night out! For local childcare recommendations, we suggest you inquire with your hotel.

Thanks for asking! Due to venue limitations, we are only able to accommodate guests named on the invitation.
