FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like in Santa Barbara?

Answer

August in Santa Barbara is generally warm and beautiful, with daily highs ranging from low 70s to low 80s, and nightly lows ranging from mid 50s to mid 60s. Since nights can be cool and mornings foggy, we recommend you bring at least one warm layer. The ocean temperature is also generally warm enough to swim this time of year, so pack your swimsuit!

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive around 4 PM to be seated for the ceremony to begin promptly at 4:30 PM.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, the dress code for our ceremony and reception is cocktail attire. For the Welcome Party, suggested attire is casual/smart casual. This event will take place outside on grass and the beach, so wearing sandals or comfortable shoes and bringing a warmth layer is encouraged.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We expect to be at capacity for our guest count so we can only accommodate those listed on your invite.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids, but again due to capacity restrictions at our reception venue, no children are invited to the wedding. That said, kids are invited to the Welcome Party on Saturday evening if you travel as a family for the weekend!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Everyone is invited to a Welcome Party on the evening of Saturday, August 30th. We'll provide dinner and drinks. Unlike the wedding where we have capacity restrictions, children are also welcome at this event if they're traveling with you. Please see the "Schedule" section for more details, and note any children attending as part of your Welcome Party RSVP.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Kindly fill out your RSVP with your specific food allergies and/or restrictions so that we can plan accordingly with our catering company.

Question

What is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Save the dates have been sent out. Formal invitations will be sent out in early June. Please RSVP by July 15th, 2025. If you are unable to attend, please select "Will not attend" on your RSVP here on the website.

Question

Is there a shuttle?

Answer

In lieu of a shuttle, we have arranged a Lyft code for all guests. On mobile, you can go to this link (https://lyft.com/lp/KATANDNEIL) to add the $20 credit to your account. Otherwise, please see this pdf (https://lft.to/470gIsf) for instructions. The $20 credit per guest can be used for transportation either to/from the Welcome Party or the wedding ceremony. It is valid from 3:00pm on 8/30 to 11:59 pm on 8/31.

Question

Is there parking at the Welcome Party?

Answer

No, unfortunately there is extremely limited parking. For guest convenience, we have arranged a Lyft discount code. Please see the above question for more details. If you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable using Lyft, please reach out to Katherine (805-433-5232) or Neil (530-574-8434) directly to confirm there is space for you to park at the beach house.

Question

Is there parking at the wedding ceremony/reception?

Answer

There is public parking around the venues, but no designated parking area. We encourage guests to stay at one of the numerous hotels within walking distance of the venues, including the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Downtown where we have a discount code (see the "Travel" section for more details). For those guests looking to drive to the ceremony and reception, public parking is available on the street or several city parking lots. Lot #7 is directly across from the Courthouse on Anacapa Street. Lot #6, the Granada Garage, is between the two venues. Lot #5, the Victoria parking lot, is across from the reception venue Villa & Vine. General parking in city lots is free for the first 75 minutes (longer for accessible parking), and $3.00 for each hour or part of an hour after that. Please see the city site for more information about parking: https://santabarbaraca.gov/DowntownParkingLots
