Getting To Santa Barbara

To get to Santa Barbara from outside California, the most convenient option is to fly into Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA), which offers direct flights from major hubs like Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Denver (DEN), Phoenix (PHX), Seattle (SEA), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), and more. If no direct flights are available from your departure city, you can fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and take a connecting flight to SBA. Alternatively, if you land at LAX, you can reach Santa Barbara by renting a car for a scenic 2-hour drive up the Pacific Coast Highway (US-101), taking an Amtrak train from Union Station in downtown LA, or using the Santa Barbara Airbus, which provides shuttle service between LAX and Santa Barbara multiple times a day. If traveling from international destinations, flying into LAX and transferring to a domestic flight or ground transportation is usually the most efficient route. For those wanting an epic road trip, you can also fly into San Francisco (SFO) or San Jose (SJC) and drive down the coast via Big Sur, taking in breathtaking ocean views along Highway 1 before arriving in Santa Barbara. However you get here, it’ll be worth the trip!
