Kat: We met when I was working in Goldsboro at a vape store. I had hired one of Nate's best friends, Matt Wilson, and had become pretty close with him while we worked. So when Nate came in to visit Matt and then added me on Facebook, I had to ask Matt why his bestie had added me but then not messaged me at all. Matt called me intimidating but said that Nate was definitely interested. So I sent him a message asking if he was alright (this was during Hurricane Matthew, another reason Matt claims that he was the fate that brought the two of us together) and then we found ourselves chatting late into the night. From there, it only took a while for us to become inseparable and for me to lose interest in anyone else. At some point, we fell asleep on Matt's couch holding hands, and I knew I was a goner. Now it's been 6 years that we've been official, and we're thrilled to be getting married! Nate: We met through a mutual friend. Then hurricane Matthew hit, we spent some time together and things just started vibing really well between us. She asked me to come be her New Years Eve kiss and I knew then that I was already in love with her
Kat: My absolute favorite thing about Nate is his generosity and kindness. He makes everyone around him laugh and I love that too, but his generosity of kindness knows zero limits. He'll drive through whatever weather to go rescue a kitten or a turtle. He regularly goes out of his way to help someone when they're in trouble, and he never hesitates to use his car knowledge to assist. With Nate in your corner, you know you're going to have a wealth of encouragement and love, and he never fails to show up. Nate: Her ability to pick me up whenever I am down. She's always there when I need her the most.
Kat: He planned a gathering for his birthday! He had me all kinds of stressed, because he specifically wanted to do the party on his birthday, which was a Wednesday night. But it turns out he was using it as an excuse to get me dressed up and around some of our closest friends without suspicion. Even with some last minute edits to the plan, Nate kept his cool and set up Max and Alexa's backyard deck to be a tiny little oasis of candlelight and romance, as well as some sweat because it was like 93 degrees. He proposed with a ring that he had designed for me, by a creator I sent him 3 YEARS ago, and had some of his blood incorporated into the ring. Nate: I proposed on my birthday, it was the only way they I thought I could surprise her. I had a lot of help and support from so many and it was amazing. Seeing the look of surprise and love on her face will forever be a one of my most cherished memories
Kat: Honestly, one of my favorite dates has to be the first one! Nate introduced me to Bulgogi Fries (still a favorite to this day) and we ended up sitting there talking for almost 3 hours. The way he opened up to me made that first date one of the most comfortable first dates I've ever been on. Nate: Probably our Savannah, GA trip but there has been so many amazing ones that it's hard to pick just one
Kat: My favorite meal was one of the first times we cooked together. We made burgers with toasted buns, a garlic aioli, French Fries, Swiss cheese, balsamic onions, mushrooms - it was delicious. But the best part was dancing around in the kitchen, kissing and giggling and shout-singing the whole time. Nate: Honestly it's any meal that we make together, our time together in the kitchen just makes the food taste so amazing
