Currency and Payments?
Answer
The Mexican peso; US dollars are widely accepted in most of the resorts and restaurants as well as Visa and MasterCard. American Express is accepted in only a few businesses and some resorts will not accept payment cash in US dollars. American checks are not accepted in Los Cabos. Also most of the ATM will provide you only pesos. Please note that Costco will only take payment in cash dollars up to $250usd but they accept credit card. Contact your bank before you visit Mexico to inform them of your trip so they do not block your credit cards.

Taxis?
Answer
There is now Uber in Los Cabos but they cannot pick up from the airport. Please make prior arrangements for airport pick-ups (linked in "Accommodations & Travel"). Ubers cannot pick-up guests from Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos, however, they can drop you off. Taxis are widely available but they do not accept credit card payments, cash only.

Beaches and Swimming?
Answer
The Los Cabos area is fortunate to have 21 miles of sandy shoreline. The majority of beaches in Los Cabos are not safe for swimming due to strong undercurrents and riptides. The swimmable public beaches are Medano Beach, Santa Maria Bay, Chileno Bay, Palmilla Beach and Costa Azul beach all located on the Sea of Cortez, no swimming is allowed on the Waldorf Astoria beach.

The main airport serving Los Cabos is the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and is 29 miles from Waldorf Astoria. A 45-minute to 60-minute scenic drive from the airport.
