This gem of a best friend came into Katey's life after moving to Livonia in the sixth grade and they have been by each other's sides ever since. They of course decided to be roommates for all four years at University of Michigan and had the same major so they could take all the same classes! Katey and Sam were inseparable during their college years and Sam quickly became the sister Katey had always asked for! Sam served as Katey's stand in significant other for most of Katey's twenties until she met Eric. They continued to support one another through medical school, traveled the world together, and Sam even followed Katey for her own residency in Indiana! Sam has truly been there for Katey through all the up and downs of life! Katey could not imagine this day without Sam at her side.
Kyle Zak
Best Man
Eric and Kyle met as members of the Purdue All American Marching Band. The two spent several semesters at Purdue as roommates as well. Kyle reintroduced Eric to the magic of Disney and Eric brought the sports fan out of Kyle. As a result the two have attended several sporting events and gone on several Disney trips together since. Kyle has a big nose and Eric has a big head. They like to remind each other of these facts from time to time.
Amy Leder

Amy was Katey's first friend during her pediatric residency and she could not have survived those three years without her. Katey is so thankful to the program for scheduling them together for so many rotations in intern year. Amy always provided a listening ear for all of the hardships that training had to offer and a voice of reason. Amy and Katey decided to travel to Kenya together for a two month rotation where they grew even closer as roommates in the sausage tree room! Through their many adventures in Africa, they accomplished their goal of seeing the big five! Amy has always been one of the biggest supporters of Katey and Eric and they are so happy to have her celebrate with them on their big day and have lifelong friends in her and Nilay!
David Baer

Eric and David were both Trombone players in the Purdue All American Marching Band. David is another friend that has shared the love of Disney with Eric and has made several Disney trips with Eric as well. The two have also enjoyed many a hour playing board games with friends. Though from time to time David forgets his responsibility of bringing Bananagrams. His one job.
Rachel Lee

Reech has been a close friend of Katey's since middle school. Katey and Reech became close during their time at University of Michigan. Many days were spent together attending football games, playing euchre, and studying. Despite many miles between them, they always found a way to visit one another and stay connected over the years with road trips to Pittsburgh, Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Indianapolis! Reech has always been a friend Katey can count on and look to for encouragement. After which Reech typically yells a "KATELYN!" to keep Katey in line. It was an honor to stand by Reech on her wedding day and Katey is so happy to have Reech do the same.
Vince Nierste

Vince and Eric met freshman year at Purdue as members of the Trombone section of the Purdue All American Marching Band. In the band the two were often in the same rank and in their senior year Vince was the section leader of the Trombone section. Vince forgot that his good buddy Eric was in the Trombone section that year during cuts though. Something Eric will never let Vince forget.
Corin Marshall

Corin is another of the group of friends that helped Katey survive pediatric residency training! Katey knew she had to be friends with Corin at intern orientation and soon after they became hilarious companions. Corin and Katey would often join each other in self care including manicures and float therapy. When work got tough, Corin was always there for Katey to lighten the mood and make her laugh. They can always make each other laugh even on night call while simultaneously making everyone else in the room uncomfortable. Corin is one of Katey's most reliable and thoughtful friends who she can always look to for support. Katey is so happy to have Corin's lighthearted self as part of her bridal party!
Mike Sheehan

Mike and Eric met in their freshman year of college as members of the trombone section in the Purdue All American Marching Band. They spent a couple years as roommates in college and share ridiculous senses of humor. Mike is a good friend that has Eric's back. On one particular night of drinking shenanigans Mike made sure an obnoxiously drunk Eric didn't make a mess and made it off the bathroom floor and to bed.
Jenny Sabo

As described by Jenny, Katey and Jenny are unlikely friends. But a Buckeye and a Wolverine became fast friends, like family really, in residency after being neighbors and assigned the same clinic. Another big part of helping Katey survive residency, Jenny supported Katey with weekly chats over wine. Her blunt honesty was always met with pure kindness that Katey could always trust Jenny as a friend. Jenny and Katey would often just hangout in pajamas when they each needed support during the tough rotations of residency. Despite moving to Texas, Jenny makes sure to keep in touch with frequent phone calls. Jenny even named her dog, Katie, after Katey. Not actually but Katey likes to tell herself that. Katey is thankful Jenny is willing to travel so far to be a part of her big day!
Mark Hamilton

Mark and Eric were both members of the Purdue All American Marching Band. Though they didn't meet until an Ultimate Frisbee game junior year for which Mark wore jeans to for some reason. Mark and Eric have spent some memorable and not very remember-able nights drinking together. Mark was usually able to tell when Eric had too much to drink when he would go on about Georges on the Indiana Pacers or creating new cheers for the St. Louis Rams. Since then the two have enjoyed many nights playing board games and video games. One of their particularly favorite past times is Eric getting wrecked by Mark in Super Smash Brothers.
Ali Theisen-Sunga

Ali and Katey quickly became friends as interns, and Katey would not have made it through residency without Ali's sassy and funny comments. From complaining about the life of a resident to the downfalls of clinic at MSA, Ali hilariously provided the bold statements Katey always thought but was never brave enough to say. Ali's hard work and confidence were an inspiration to Katey. She could always count on Ali to provide reprieve from work by going to a JT concert, organizing a peddle pub, or providing dog therapy with her pets at Metazoa. Ali joins Eric and Katey in their love of Disney and shared in the adventure of Eric and Katey's first trip to Disney together. Katey is glad to have this sassy lady as a bridesmaid!
JT Brennan
Groomsman
JT and Eric were both members of the Purdue All American Marching and met in the Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity. They eventually became good friends in Eric's last year at college when JT would crash the couch at his apartment most weekends. They briefly both lived in the Elkhart/South Bend area and were able to hang out. On one such occasion Eric regrettably didn't heed JT's warning about drinking a beer made with ghost pepper.
Lindsey Kehlenbrink

Lindsey is Eric's sister and has always been a welcoming personality into the Kehlenbrink family for Katey. Katey always wanted to have sisters so she is thankful she is gaining Lindsey as a sister through Eric. Katey and Eric appreciate that Linsdey helps to keep them young by inviting them to gatherings and having them over to her house. Katey can always count on Lindsey to keep her updated about her most recent shopping, recipes, and adventures to keep Katey entertained while Eric gets distracted by football at family gatherings. Katey is incredibly thankful that she is gaining such a loving family through Eric!
Bryan Kehlenbrink

Bryan and Eric are cousins that share unhealthy obsessions in sports. Eric's largely manifested in a fandom of Purdue football which he subsequently dragged Bryan into by taking him to Purdue games when the two were in high school. Though the games didn't always go the way they wanted, those are days both fondly remember. Fortunately Purdue treated the two to a victory over Vanderbilt last season in a revival of the tradition.
Catherine Martin

Catherine married Katey's brother, Christopher, and became a sister that Katey always wanted. Katey is so happy to have Catherine around at family gatherings to help put Christopher in his place. Catherine serves as an inspiration of a strong woman and always doing what's right by other people. Eric and Katey were so thankful to have Christopher and Catherine as welcoming friends when they moved to Michigan from Indiana. She shares in Katey's love of cheering on the Wolverines on football Saturday. Katey can always count of Catherine to encourage Katey in her love of adventures and travel! Katey is very happy that Christopher found such a wonderful person to bring into the family!
Christopher Roberts

Christopher is Eric's future brother-in-law. The two share an interest in board game and enjoy a good craft beer. Like Eric, Christopher is a big college football fan though he is a Michigan alum. Thankfully for Eric, Purdue and Michigan are in different divisions in the Big Ten and don't play each other often. That being said Eric does look forward to going to Purdue Michigan games with him in the future.
