What are the SparkNotes for the Wedding Day?

1. Our ceremony location has changed and will now take place at Good Shepherd Church in Surrey, BC (2250 150 St, Surrey, BC V4A 9J3) . People are to be seated at 1:15pm and the ceremony will promptly start at 1:30pm. 2. Wear black! (Guys are welcome to wear any colour shirt). 3. Cocktail hour begins on the patio at 4:00 pm at Whonnock Lake Centre (27871 113 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC V2W 1M9). 4. Pizza buffet service will begin at 6:00 pm. All allergies and dietary restrictions will be accommodated at the pizza service upon your request. 5. Bring your toonies! We will be having a toonie bar. No hard liquor will be provided except for our signature drink (Rum + Cokes). 6. Dancing will be over at 12:00 am. Plan for a safe ride home!

When is the wedding?

Our wedding is on Saturday, July 25, 2026, which also marks 10 years together. We are so excited to celebrate this meaningful milestone with our closest family and friends!

What is the dress code?
Answer
If possible, we kindly ask guests to dress according to our colour scheme of black. Semi-formal attire is preferred.

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?
Answer
Our ceremony will now take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (2250 150 St, Surrey, BC V4A 9J3). Our cocktail hour and reception will follow at Whonnock Lake Centre (27871 113 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC V2W 1M9). Please note that the two venues are approximately a 1 hour drive apart from one another.

Do I have to be Catholic to attend the ceremony?
Answer
No, everyone is welcome! It is very common for non-Catholics to receive a blessing during the ceremony. We’re so happy to celebrate with people of all backgrounds and religions!

When should I arrive to the ceremony?
Answer
Please arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow time to find parking and seating. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:30 pm. There are lots of parking spaces in front of the Church, or overflow parking options in the Star of the Sea Elementary School parking lot.

Will there be a cocktail hour?
Answer
Yes! Cocktail hour will take place at 4:00 PM on the back patio of our reception venue at Whonnock Lake Centre. Light appetizers, including charcuterie cups and fruits & veggies, will be served to tide you over until dinner. Drinks and lawn games will also be available for you to enjoy while lakeside mingling!

Toonie Bar and Selections
Answer
Our bar will be a Toonie bar! Please bring toonies and small bills. You can expect a selection of beer, coolers, and wine from the bar. We will also be providing a bottle of white and red wine on each table. Please note that hard liquor will not be provided (except for our Newlywed Signature), but there will be soft drink options available.

Is there parking at the reception?
Answer
The parking lots right outside the reception venue are reserved for the wedding party and immediate family. The remaining parking lot is public and can fill up during the summer months, so we recommend arriving a bit early if you need public spots!

Wildlife Warning!
Answer
Bears are frequently spotted in the area! Please use caution if you’re exploring the grounds and avoid leaving any food unattended.

Using the dock at Whonnock Lake
Answer
The canoe and kayak club may be using the dock as they have permits for regular use, so please be mindful if they are there. You are welcome to walk around and enjoy the scenery in the meantime as the lake area is beautiful for photos or for a lakeside stroll.

What can I expect for dinner?
Answer
Ranallo’s Pizza will be catering our reception with an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. They’ll also be serving their amazing homemade gelato! If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when you RSVP.

Are children invited?
Answer
Children are welcome to join us at our ceremony! As we love your little ones, our cocktail party and reception will be an adults-only celebration.

Are gifts expected?
Answer
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift! If you wish to give, we would gratefully welcome a contribution to our honeymoon fund.

Will there be dancing?
Answer
Most definitely! We will have a professional DJ keeping the party going throughout our reception. Pack an extra pair of comfy shoes to change into, as the bride and groom won’t be letting anyone sit out dancing! We have the dance floor until 12:00 am.

Apologies for any inconvenience, as we haven’t been able to find lodging recommendations, so guests are welcome to arrange their own accommodations in the area, such as via Airbnb. Please be sure to plan for a safe ride home, and carpooling is encouraged!
