Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 6:00pm. Please plan to arrive around 5:30pm so that you have sufficient time to walk from the designated drop-off/parking area (a 5 minute walk) and be seated at the Grace Arents Garden by 5:45pm in time for the ceremony.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception / where can I be dropped off?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are occurring at the same location. Uber, Lyft, and hotel shuttles (if available) are great options. Please be dropped off in Lot A. For those wishing to drive, please park in Lot A. All cars must be removed from the parking lot at the end of the night or they will be locked in overnight. If you leave your car overnight, please be sure to remove it between 8:00am - 11:00am on Sunday to avoid being towed. Utilizing Lot A is to ensure you are able to walk to our ceremony (you will not be able to walk across the gardens from other parking lots). There will be a flag hanging as well as an attendant to check in each guest and start you on the path down to the garden. Please refer to the photo above for a map of the Lewis Ginter entrance (1), the parking lot to utilize (2), and the ceremony/reception location (3).

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are primarily registered with Zola, with a few items directly from Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Target. Please refer to the "Registry" tab.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love all of your little ones, but all wedding weekend events are 21+. We hope everyone is able to relax and enjoy the evening with us!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are only able to accomodate those guests formally invited on each wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, your formal invitation will be addressed as such.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please refer to the "Travel" tab for a list of hotels with a special rate for our wedding weekend as well as other travel recommendations.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire (dresses, dressy jumpsuits, suits, dark jackets, slacks). Please be aware that all events are planned to be outside. The ceremony seating will be in a grassy area, with the reception under a tent on brick/concrete flooring. Weather permitting, guests will be able to walk around our designated garden area. Please wear shoes accordingly!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Our reception will be buffet-style/passed hors d'oeuvres, so there should be something for everyone! Peanuts/nuts will be excluded from the menu. There will be waitstaff at Lewis Ginter who can answer specifics regarding ingredients. Please let us know if you require a vegetarian or vegan meal or if you have any further concerns.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We will be hosting a welcome party on Friday night at Hardywood Brewery. All wedding guests are welcome to stop by! Please note the address on the "Schedule" tab - this is the downtown Richmond location, not the West Creek location. On-site parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, but please note that it is limited due to construction in the area. Uber and Lyft are encouraged for those wishing to enjoy a few beverages with us!
