Why a remote venue in NC?

Answer

We're thinking this may be the most F Q we'll get. There is a long answer, but in brief: We love all of you dearly and want to spend as much time together as we can! We wanted a venue that allowed all our guests to stay with us if they chose, and because we are huge foodies, we were stubborn about our venue having some delicious offerings. Hawkesdene miraculously provided all of the things we wanted: good food, beautiful nature, and most importantly - time spent with our loved ones during a very special weekend! Thank you all so much for the effort you have put in to be there with us for this event. Really truly, we can't put into words how much we appreciate it.

What is included in the lodging cost?

Answer

Kate and Chris have reserved accommodations on-property at a discounted rate for all guests! The lodging cost includes your entire wedding weekend, and is $300 per adult. You will be provided: Beautiful private accommodations for the weekend with full kitchens, dining areas, and gathering areas. All meals, beginning the evening you arrive through the morning you leave, and unlimited drinks and snacks. Access to many on-site activities including hiking trails, wood-burning fire pits, lawn games, llama and alpaca stable and more. Open bar during official events and access to beer/wine throughout the weekend.

Where am I staying?

Answer

We’ve spent many hours thoughtfully arranging family and friend groups together. Rest assured you will know the people you’ve been assigned with. The Hawkesdene staff will give your cabin info upon arrival, or let us know if you're getting in after hours and we will provide it in advance.

What is included for food?

Answer

Your meals will include farm-to-table breakfast, lunch, dinner and unlimited snacks and beverages. Alcoholic beverages will be provided throughout the day, and with evening meals. There is also a fully functioning kitchen and fridge provided for each accommodation.

What is not included for food?

Answer

Short answer: not much! Beer, wine, and drinks will be provided with dinners and events, but you are welcome to bring your favorite beverages for daytime and late night activities. If you need to make a grocery run, there are an Ingles and a Walgreens 10 minutes away. Each cottage is equipped with its own refrigerator for personal beverages. All dietary and allergy restrictions will be accommodated by the Hawkesdene culinary team. No need to bring your own meals/snacks. Please make sure to list those in your RSVP!

What should I pack?

Answer

Please refer to the scheduled events tab for ceremony attire specifics. Beyond that, plan for a multi-day autumn trip in the mountains! Think layers, cozy clothes, something to hike or take a walk in, and some nicer clothes for rehearsal and welcome dinners. It may be a good idea to stay away from skinnier heels on shoes, as there will be both paved and unpaved surfaces throughout the wedding day.
