When should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving early Friday to settle in and enjoy the area before the wedding festivities begin. If you're able, we'd love for you to come a day early and join us for our welcome party on Thursday evening! Gruene/New Braunfels is located about 45 minutes from both San Antonio and Austin airports, making travel easy from either direction. 💙🤠🌿

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest airport is San Antonio International Airport (about 45 minutes away). Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is another option (about 1 hour away).

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Not necessarily! Uber and Lyft are available, but remember: this is Texas, where "just down the road" can mean 20 minutes away. If you'd like to explore the area or have maximum flexibility, consider renting a car. Otherwise, ride shares are a perfectly reasonable option for getting around. 🤠✨

What should I wear?

Answer

think sundresses, jumpsuits, sport coats, button-downs, cocktail dresses, cowboy boots, and western wear. March weather in Texas is anyone's guess, but this past year it was in the 80s by March 19! If you're anything like Kate and always seem to be hot, plan accordingly. We care far more about everyone being comfortable and ready to celebrate than sticking to a strict dress code. Come dressed to look great, dance hard, and enjoy a Texas Hill Country evening with us. 🤠🌿💙

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will take place at the beautiful Chandelier of Gruene. The ceremony will be held in the venue's covered, open-air chapel. Cocktail hour will take place on the outdoor paved patio (weather permitting), and the reception will be indoors. While most of the evening will be comfortable regardless of the weather, you may want to bring a light layer if temperatures cool off after sunset.

Are heels okay?

Answer

Absolutely! Most of the venue is indoors or on paved surfaces, making it very accessible and heel-friendly. Block heels are always a great option, but wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and ready to dance the night away. 💃🕺

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

You bet! We'll be providing an open bar for our guests (duhhh).

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes! A shuttle will be provided between the host hotel and the venue. Specific pickup and return times will be shared closer to the wedding date.
