Many stars had to align in order for us to find each other, and we couldn't be more thankful that they did! In the Spring of 2015, we were first brought together on Wake Forest University's campus, where Kate attended undergrad and Max was visiting friends. Max will never forget Kate's "giant oversized t-shirt and nike shorts" that she wore when they met. Upon meeting, we made the connection that our fathers knew each other and had been colleagues and friends in the music business for over 30 years. For the next year as Max's father Chip navigated his battle with cancer, we corresponded via text and Facebook messenger to stay up to date on Chip's health. Unfortunately, Chip passed away in March of 2016. After this, we continued to stay in touch as Max finished his college basketball career and Kate graduated from Wake Forest. During the summer of 2016 Kate moved to Nashville, TN to begin the Teach for America program and Max moved to Charlotte, NC to begin training for his professional basketball career. We found ourselves talking every day through texting and phone calls. Max would say that it was clear that Kate wanted us to spend time together, but Kate says it was nothing more than playful flirting! One day in August 2016, Max decided to spontaneously make the 6 hour drive to Nashville to visit Kate. Around 6pm that day, Kate found herself greeting Max on her doorstep with a big hug and a smile. We spent our first weekend together in Nashville exploring, eating, and laughing with one another. After that weekend we knew we had something special. Since then, we have navigated four years of long distance, traveled thousands of miles together, and created many incredible memories on Cape Cod. In the Spring of 2020, we finally found ourselves in Boston together and Max popped the question in December 2020! We are so excited to continue our love story on Cape Cod in August 2022 and can't wait to share our special weekend with everyone!
