This is also the location of the ceremony! If you’ve got a few extra days to kill in the area, particularly with kids, the museum has a ton of interactive exhibits and houses refurbished helicopters and tanks used in combat throughout the history of the Marine Corps.
This is a spot that Kate’s family would go to on the weekends when the Shrimpton girls were younger. It’s got wonderful walks through the woods, a train and carousel, and some fitness obstacle courses for those who want to work out while they’re here.
For the nature and animal lover, and those who want to check out DC, this is a great museum to go to and has a ton of fantastic exhibits. Big hits are the dinosaur fossils, the Hope diamond, and the Hall of Mammals.
This is an outlet mall with a movie theatre and lots of great stores. If you forgot anything or need a last minute wedding outfit, this is the place to go!
Kate's favorite museum - full of aircraft spanning a century of warfare, featuring the Space Shuttle Discovery, the Lockheed Blackbird, and the B-52 Superfortress Enola Gay.
George Washington’s home! For any of our out-of-town visitors, this is a must-see. The home is open for tours and the museum details George Washington’s life, as well as life on the plantation in the mid-late 1700s.
The site of our first date! This outdoor shopping center has some great restaurants and shops, as well as a movie theatre.
A WW2 era torpedo factory that was remodeled into an art center. You can watch local artists at work and buy some of their pieces, as well as walk around the nearby waterfront and grab some ice cream at Ben & Jerry's!
