Our paths first crossed on our middle school soccer team, but it wasn't until high school, when we joined the same youth group, that we really got to know each other. During a 2014 mission trip with the group, we felt a spark that led us to start dating soon after. Our relationship blossomed over the next year and a half, but when Liam left for college, we decided to take some time apart. After visiting him during his second semester of freshman year, we rekindled our romance. When Kate headed off to college a year after Liam, we decided to take another brief break, but it wasn't long before we found our way back to one another and resumed our long-distance relationship for the rest of our college years. After graduation, we both moved back to Chicago, and by August 2022, we were thrilled to move in together. Now, we're excited to take the next step and say "I do" with all of our loved ones by our side!

We had looked at rings together and even designed a custom one, so Kate was well aware that a proposal was on the horizon. As a result, Liam knew he had to be extra sneaky to be able to pull one over on her. While Kate was staying with her family at her grandparents' house in Florida, Liam decided to fly down to surprise her. With Jen's help, he chose a spot to propose and tasked Jen with getting Kate there. Jen created a fake Instagram story about a brunch being held at the Jupiter lighthouse to convince Kate that the brunch they were attending that morning was, in fact, real. When Kate and her family arrived at the lighthouse parking lot, the staff directed them to the 'brunch,' leading Kate up the lighthouse stairs, where she found Liam waiting at the top. Kate had absolutely no idea about any of this, so she let out a small gasp and took a moment to process what was happening. Liam then proceeded to pop the question, to which Kate gave a very definitive "YES!" It was a day full of shock, happy tears, and plenty of celebration to begin our next chapter as fiancés!
